Secret Lelouch, also known as Lulu, is one of the strongest support units in Universal Tower Defense. His ability to completely control enemy movement makes him meta-defining for challenges, bosses, and late-game content. This guide explains the full obtainment process step by step, including the fastest methods and common mistakes to avoid.
Universal Tower Defense Secret Lelouch (Lulu) Obtainment Guide
Requirements Before You Start
Before you can even see the Lelouch quest, you must meet one hard requirement.
You need to be player level 30.
If you are below level 30, the quest will not appear under any circumstances. Focus on story, challenges, AFK chamber, or infinite mode until you reach level 30 first.
Once you hit level 30, you can begin the quest called “Power of Kings.”
Starting the Quest (Power of Kings)
Go to the summon area in the lobby. Near the road/path beside the summoning zone, you will find C.C. (the Code Geass character).
Talk to C.C. to accept the quest.
After speaking to her, she will ask you to deal with a distressed subject somewhere in the world.
Finding the Distressed NPC (Randomized Step)
This part of the quest is partially random.
You will be sent to one of three possible NPCs, each tied to a different anime world:
• Bleach NPC → Hueco Mundo
• One Piece NPC (Luffy) → Marineford
• Naruto NPC → Naruto story map
You will know the correct NPC because they will have a Lelouch/Geass eye symbol floating above their head.
Talk to that NPC to progress the quest.
Locating the Chess Boards (Story Mode Step)
After talking to the NPC, the quest will instruct you to find three chess boards inside that NPC’s story stage.
For Bleach (Hueco Mundo / Hollowed Moon):
You can enter any act, but later acts make navigation easier.
General rule for chess boards:
• All three boards are placed around the main structures of the map
• You do NOT need to activate them in order
• Simply walking over all three is enough to unlock the chess mini-game
Once all three boards are interacted with, the chess game becomes available.
Winning the Chess Mini-Game
The chess mini-game is extremely easy.
Your objective is to capture the king piece, which is visually distinct (horned or highlighted).
The AI makes very weak moves, and the puzzle is closer to a scripted checkmate than real chess.
If your board layout differs slightly, just focus on forcing the king into capture using rooks or major pieces. This step should take less than a minute.
Once completed, the quest progresses.
Complete 80 Waves in Any Mode
Next objective:
Complete 80 total waves in any game mode
The fastest method:
• Go into Infinite Mode
• Lower the difficulty as much as possible
• Use basic farm units and any decent DPS
• AFK until wave 80
Enemy HP at wave 80 is very low, so you do not need strong units. This step is time-based, not skill-based.
Defeat 15 Boss Enemies
Next objective:
Kill 15 boss enemies
Fastest method:
• Play Marineford Act 1
• Each run takes about 2 minutes
• Contains a guaranteed boss
Repeat the stage until you reach 15 boss kills. This is currently the most time-efficient boss farming method.
Upgrade Relics 75 Times (Important Clarification)
This is one of the most misunderstood steps.
You must perform 75 separate upgrade clicks, not upgrade 75 total levels.
Correct method:
• Open relics
• Click upgrade one level at a time
• Each single click counts as 1 progress
You can spam upgrades on cheap relics. Do NOT dump all gold into one relic thinking it will count faster. This saves an enormous amount of gold.
Place Units 5,000 Times (Worst Step)
This is the longest and most tedious part of the entire quest.
Objective:
Place any unit a total of 5,000 times
Fastest method:
• Enter a private or empty match
• Place a cheap unit
• Sell it immediately
• Repeat
Most players use a simple macro:
• Place unit key
• Click to place
• Press sell key
• Loop every 1–2 seconds
Without a macro, this step can take several hours. With a macro, it usually takes around 2 to 3 hours depending on efficiency.
This step is unavoidable.
Claiming Secret Lelouch (Lulu)
Once all quest objectives are completed, return and claim your reward.
You will receive Secret Lelouch (Lulu).
Shiny is not guaranteed, but the unit is already top-tier without it.
Why Lelouch Is Meta
Lelouch does not deal damage. Instead, he issues commands that completely control enemies:
• Forces enemies to walk backward
• Freezes enemies in place
• Causes enemies to attack each other
• Creates artificial walls by stopping movement
This level of crowd control trivializes difficult content and allows DPS units to free-hit bosses and waves. That is why Lelouch is considered one of the best support units in the game.
